Ginnie Konan Celebrates 50 Years of Employment
PORTLAND, Maine -cPort Credit Union's Ginnie Konan recently celebrated a rare milestone, especially in today's workplace, when she marked her fiftieth year of employment with the credit union. She was recently honored by the credit union for her accomplishment. The credit union has branches in Portland, Augusta and Scarborough.
In 1960, Ginnie began her tenure at then-Government Employees Credit Union as a teller. That institution became cPort Credit Union, one of the many changes Ginnie has weathered over the past fifty years, giving her a unique perspective on the credit union's history. She has held various positions including phone operator, member service representative, Vice President of Operations and currently manages the IRA program.
Gene Ardito, President/CEO of cPort Credit Union, praised Ginnie "for the example she sets for the entire staff. It is a testament to the stability of our organization and to the stability of the credit union industry in general that we've been able to benefit from her expertise for so long. We are lucky to have had her service for fifty years, and we hope for many more years. Ginnie is that rare element in the business world: an ideal."
Konan, who lives in Portland, has no plans on retiring and looks forward to "continue to serve both the credit union and the members."
