The Boys & Girls Clubs of Kennebec Valley (BGCKV) opened its doors in 1996 as a Gardiner-based childcare program. The club has evolved over the last 26 years and has grown to help over 1,200 members in Kennebec County annually.

More recently, BGCKV completed an $11 million campaign to build their new facility in Gardiner. In August 2022, the building was completed, and the doors opened to the community. cPort donated  $25,000 towards the cause with the funds for the new toddlers room.

cPort is proud to partner with organizations like BGCKV, not only through a donation but also by volunteering our time through programs like the cPort Scholarship Program. “The future of our community starts with children—which is why cPort is so honored to support BGCKV,” said Gene Ardito, cPort CEO.

cPort hosted our first Scholarship Program at the club in 2022 with 6 $100 scholarship winners ranging from grades 3 to 6. cPort and BGCKV are excited to continue the Scholarship Program in 2023 in their new building in Gardiner.

“cPort has given our school-age members an opportunity to aspire for more and dream big through their cPort Scholarship Program. They are truly doing whatever it takes to build great futures in and around the communities they serve,” said Heather Genest, BGCKV’s School Age Coordinator & CLC Site Coordinator.

Thank you to BGCKV for supporting the greater Augusta community!
