Adam Warfel Joins cPort Credit Union as Chief Financial Officer

cPort Credit Union has appointed Adam Warfel as its new Chief Financial Officer, strengthening the organization’s executive leadership team as it continues to serve members and communities across Maine.

Warfel brings more than a decade of senior financial and operational leadership experience within Maine’s credit union system. Most recently, he served as President and Chief Financial Officer of PeoplesChoice Credit Union, where he provided strategic leadership, oversaw operations, and guided the organization through key initiatives focused on alignment and long‑term sustainability.

Prior to PeoplesChoice, Warfel held senior leadership roles at Synergent and the Maine Credit Union League, including serving as Vice President of Accounting and Finance and as a member of the senior leadership team. Earlier in his career, he worked in public accounting at Macpage, LLC (now Wipfli), specializing in audit and assurance services.

Warfel is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified Management Accountant (CMA). He earned a master’s degree in accounting from the University of Southern Maine and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Earlham College, combining deep technical expertise with a people‑centered leadership approach.

In addition to his professional roles, Warfel currently serves as Chair and Treasurer of Apex Youth Connection in Biddeford, where he helps support youth empowerment and community engagement initiatives throughout the region.
